2014 Classic Lake Austin

I have the lodging set up for the classic. It will be at the Bungalow Hotel and Event Center at Cedar Park, TX – address is 1000 South Bell Blvd – it is on US 183 north of Austin. Their phone number is 512-331-2741. The contact there is Victor or Sam – they have agreed upon a rate of $125.99 per night for a double room – with two queen beds. They have ground rooms available and outside access to each one. It is the best I could find. If you choose to reserve a room tell them you are with the Permian Bass Club to get that rate. I didn’t ask about a room with single king size bed but they are available. I have told them to block off 8 rooms thru the end of this month. I have talked to most of you and don’t really have any idea of who will commit at this date. But that is where I will be staying. If you have other plans, no problem, will be back in touch with a plan for the pre-fish meeting on Thursday – March 4th in the evening and location for the classic meal on Friday night March 5th. If you have any questions you can reach me at 432-553-3049. If you talk to other classic participants that I fail to reach please tell them about it. I would appreciate it we could get it posted on the web site.

I do have us set up for the Classic meal on Friday night next week at BBQ 512 – 8650 Spicewood Springs Rd, Austin – 6:30 to 7 pm. As far as the fishing – talked to a guy at LBJ this weekend that lives in Austin – said he quit fishing there couple of years ago. Said there was way better fishing elsewhere. He said as we already heard – no vegetation – fishing docks only cover. He did say there are times he hears of big fish caught there but seldom any numbers.  Also said weigh-in may be an issue especially on Saturday – the 360 ramp has limited parking. But we will face that issue when we get done Friday. As far as weather – early forecast shows 60% chance of rain – high in the lower 60s and low at 42 for Friday – no report for Saturday. This far out that may change for better or worse.
